Camila Cabello reconnecting with Fifth Harmony members

Camila Cabello has opened up about mending the friendships she lost during the tumultuous breakup of Fifth Harmony.

The 27-year-old Havana singer was one of the founding members of the girl group, formed on The X Factor USA in 2012, alongside Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, and Normani Kordei. Together, they released chart-topping hits like Work From Home and Boss.

In December 2016, Cabello stunned fans and her bandmates by leaving the group. The remaining members continued as a quartet, releasing a third album before announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2018.

Reflecting on her experience in the group during an interview with Nylon, Cabello revealed that her anxiety during that time was overwhelming. “It was more than a person should bear [in that situation],” she shared.

Cabello emphasized the importance of conflict resolution in group dynamics, something she feels she lacked at 16. “How do you deal with being left out? How do you deal with jealousy? How do you address these things without hurting yourself or others?” she said.

The Señorita singer also spoke about reconnecting with Normani, 28, after years of estrangement. The two rekindled their friendship during Paris Fashion Week in September.

“I remember times when we’d laugh so hard,” Cabello told the magazine. “With space, we can go back to that. The past few times I’ve seen her, I’ll say something, and she laughs really hard. It doesn’t feel like we’re strangers—it’s like we’re finding our way back to being close again.”
