Britney Spears completes final child support payments

Britney Spears is set to make her final child support payment to her ex-husband Kevin Federline this week, marking the end of a 17-year financial arrangement. According to TMZ, the pop icon has been making biweekly payments of $10,000 (£7,840) for the support of their two sons. The last payment is scheduled for Friday.

Initially, Federline was receiving $40,000 (£31,400) per month from Spears because their sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, lived with him full-time in Hawaii. However, the payments were reduced to $20,000 (£15,700) after their eldest son, Sean Preston, turned 18 last year.

The former couple, who divorced in 2007, also share their younger son, Jayden James, who turned 18 in September. According to Federline's lawyer, child support for Jayden continued until November when he graduated from high school. "Under California law, child support typically ends when the child turns 18, but if they haven’t graduated high school by then, it continues until they do, with a final cut-off at age 19," the lawyer explained to *People* magazine.

In recent developments, Spears has reportedly reconnected with her younger son, Jayden, after years of estrangement. Sources told *People* that Jayden has been visiting his mother in Los Angeles, suggesting a positive shift in their relationship.
