Fergie has been away from the discography in recent years.
The Black Eyed Peas have spoken about the possibility of reuniting with Fergie.
Fergie was a member of the Black Eyed Peas and lent her voice to some of their biggest hits including 'Let's Get It Started', 'I Gotta Feeling' and 'My Humps'.
The 48-year-old singer left the Black Eyed Peas in 2017.
Despite her unexpected departure, the Black Eyed Peas harbor no ill feelings towards her – although the possibility of a reunion seems unlikely.
"Fergie is really happy doing what she's doing and that's what she chose to do: Be an awesome mom and take care of Axl," will.i.am said on the sidelines of the RBCxMusic Concert Series at the RBC Canadian Open.
Fergie has an 8-year-old son named Axel with her ex-husband Josh Duhamel, with whom she was married from 2009 to 2019.
Referring to her reasons for leaving the music industry, Fergie has previously cited her desire to focus on her role as a mother.
"So we've had an amazing journey and experience with Fergie," continued will.i.am.
“Before we met Fergie, we were a trio. And so the Black Eyed Peas remain in the form in which they began. But we wish Fergie the best," he noted.
“But she's doing the best job and she's doing an amazing job raising Axl as a single mother. I was raised by a single mother and being a single mother is a tough, tough job," she added.
The Black Eyed Peas' Taboo also praised the guest singer who tours with the band.
“And also to recognize our little sister who is touring with us, J. Rey Soul. We cannot forget all the work he has done in the last two years," he said.
J. Rey Soul rose to fame when she participated in the first season of 'The Voice' in the Philippines.
“Apl.de.ap gave an amazing, young, Filipina, black woman from the Philippines the opportunity to have a platform, tour with us, and become part of our family. So kudos to J. Rey Soul too,” Taboo added.
Around the time of her departure from the Black Eyed Peas in 2017, Fergie released her second solo album - titled 'Double Dutchess' - and has been on hiatus ever since.
