Beyoncé has playfully asked her mother, Tina Knowles, to avoid "spilling too much tea" in her forthcoming memoir.
On Tuesday, Tina announced her new book, *Matriarch*, where she will share her life story and her experiences as the mother of one of the world’s biggest superstars. Excited by the news, Beyoncé took to Instagram to congratulate her mom on the project.
"Mama, I couldn’t be prouder. My love for you goes beyond words," Beyoncé wrote warmly. "You’ve poured your heart into this book. I’m so happy that you’re sharing some of the stories that shaped who you are. To know you is to love you."
However, Beyoncé—known for guarding her personal life—playfully cautioned her mom. "But please don’t spill too much Mama Tea," she joked, referencing the popular term for sharing juicy details.
In *Matriarch*, Tina will reflect on her childhood in Galveston, Texas, her marriage to Mathew Knowles, and raising daughters Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, as well as caring for Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland from a young age. The book will also cover her career as a businesswoman, designer, and philanthropist.
Editors at Penguin Random House describe *Matriarch* as “an intimate and revealing story of one remarkable woman,” offering a multigenerational family saga that captures America’s spirit and the wisdom passed from mothers to daughters over generations.
*Matriarch* is available for pre-order and is set for release on April 22, 2025.
