Beyoncé has celebrated her daughter Blue Ivy Carter's acting debut in Mufasa: The Lion King.
The Formation singer reprises her role as the voice of Nala in the sequel to Disney's 2019 live-action remake of The Lion King, while 12-year-old Blue Ivy lends her voice to Kiara, the daughter of Simba and Nala and the Pride Lands' cub princess.
Following the premiere at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Beyoncé took to Instagram to honor her daughter’s accomplishment. "My gorgeous baby girl. This is your night. You worked hard and you did such a beautiful job as the voice of Kiara. Your family could not be prouder. Keep shining," she wrote, sharing photos of Blue Ivy in a stunning gold lamé ballgown.
Beyoncé attended the event with her husband, JAY-Z, and her mother, Tina Knowles.
The premiere came amidst controversy, as JAY-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was recently named in a civil lawsuit alongside Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Both are accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at a party in 2000. JAY-Z has denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit a "blackmail attempt" and urging that a criminal complaint, not a civil one, should be filed if the accusations are true.
Beyoncé has not addressed the lawsuit publicly.
Mufasa: The Lion King is set to hit theaters on December 20.
