Beyoncé: 'Break My Soul' at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100

Double number one for Beyoncé in the same week.
Beyoncé jumps from No. 6 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her single 'Break My Soul' the same week her new album 'Renaissance' tops the Billboard 200.

"Break My Soul," which debuted at No. 15 six weeks earlier, is featured on Beyoncé's new album "Renaissance," which just became her seventh No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.

In addition to its original version on "Renaissance," "Break My Soul" has been released in six alternate versions over the past few weeks: Beyoncé released remixes by Honey Dijon, Terry Hunter and will.i.am, club mix by Nita Aviance, as well as an a cappella and an orchestral version.

"The Queens Remix" featuring Madonna was released on August 5, the first day of the next week's counting week on the Billboard charts.

"Break My Soul" totaled 61.7 million radio plays (up 8%), 18.9 million streams (up 114%) and 13,000 downloads (up 113%) in the US for the week of July 29-August 4, according to the Luminate.

"Break My Soul" is Beyoncé's eighth solo song to dominate the No. 1 on the Hot 100.

As a member of Destiny's Child, Beyoncé had four No. 1s on the Hot 100 with "Bills, Bills, Bills" (one week at No. 1 in 1999), "Say My Name" (3 weeks, 2000), "Independent Women (Part 1)" (11 weeks, 2000-01) and "Bootylicious" (2 weeks, 2001).

All 16 songs from her new album 'Renaissance' appear simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.

Beyoncé now has 81 solo songs on the Hot 100 since her first appearance on the chart with Jay-Z's "'03 Bonnie & Clyde," which reached No. 4 in 2002.

Beyoncé surpasses Aretha Franklin (73) and Ariana Grande (70) for third place among female solo artists with the most songs on the Hot 100 in the chart's 64-year history.

Only Taylor Swift (168) and Nicki Minaj (123) are ahead. Drake tops the overall list with 276 songs. As a member of Destiny's Child, Beyoncé has 14 other songs on the Billboard Hot 100 from 1997 to 2005.
