Sean “Diddy” Combs, once a towering figure in the hip-hop world, is now at the center of yet another documentary—this time focusing on his meteoric rise and dramatic downfall.
Diddy Faces the Justice System
Premiering April 28 on BBC Three and iPlayer, P Diddy: The Rise and Fall is hosted by award-winning journalist Yinka Bokinni. The documentary traces Combs’ massive influence across music, fashion, and pop culture, while turning a critical eye on the severe allegations that have since overshadowed his legacy.
Combs has been in custody for eight months, awaiting trial scheduled for May 5. The charges against him are staggering: operating a criminal enterprise, sex trafficking, coercion, kidnapping, arson, and bribery. He has pleaded not guilty, but his request for a trial delay has already been denied.
In addition, he faces numerous lawsuits alleging rape and physical abuse—claims he firmly denies.
A Deep Social Portrait
“I never imagined I’d be telling this story,” Bokinni admits. “We began by admiring the music, the lifestyle, the image. But this documentary uncovers the darker reality of an industry many dream of joining. It’s a difficult story, but one that must be told.”
The BBC promises a thoughtful investigation into the intersections of power, money, corruption, and sexism that shaped Combs’ rise and fall—featuring interviews with former collaborators and insiders from his personal and professional life.
