Ariana Grande: “Years” Before New Music as She Embraces Acting Career
Ariana Grande, the pop sensation who has dominated the charts since 2011, has revealed that fans will need to wait several years before hearing new music from her. The 31-year-old star released her seventh album, Eternal Sunshine, in March and has captivated audiences with four high-energy tours over her career. However, her focus has now shifted toward acting.
A Pause in Music for Grande
In a recent interview with Variety, Grande reflected on her gratitude for her music career but indicated she is stepping away from recording and touring for the foreseeable future.
"I feel so grateful to the acting, and I think my fans know that music and being on stage will always be a part of my life," she said. "But I don't see it coming anytime soon."
The One Last Time singer also hinted that acting feels like a new artistic home for her. "The next few years, hopefully, we'll be exploring different forms of art, and I think acting is feeling like home right now," she explained.
Grande expressed appreciation for her fans’ support as she transitions into this new phase of her career. "I'm so grateful for the ways in which we've grown together over this whole journey with Wicked," she added.
Music Not Gone Forever
While Grande’s music hiatus will likely last for several years, she reassured fans that music remains a part of her identity. "Music will always be a part of my life," she said with a laugh. "I'll perform at my mother's house."
Shining in Wicked
Ariana Grande is currently dazzling audiences in Wicked - Part I, where she plays Glinda Upland. The first part of the two-part adaptation of the beloved musical is in cinemas now, and Grande is set to reprise her role in Wicked: For Good, scheduled for release in November 2025.
Grande’s pivot to acting signals a new chapter in her illustrious career, and fans will undoubtedly follow her journey with excitement—both on-screen and whenever she decides to return to music.
