Will Smith: Unveils tracklist for based on a true story

Will Smith has officially announced his return to music with a brand-new album, Based on a True Story, marking his first full-length release in nearly two decades. The album follows 2005’s Lost and Found and is set to drop on March 28.

The multi-talented actor and rapper shared the news via Instagram on March 17, revealing the album’s tracklist and encouraging fans to pre-save it.

"It’s OFFICIAL!! My new album Based on a True Story is out March 28th. TWO WEEKS!! Press pre-save. I’ve been working on this project for a while now, and I can’t wait to share it with you," he wrote in his post.

A Throwback Aesthetic & Star-Studded Features

The album cover channels old-school hip-hop vibes, with Smith sporting a red Philadelphia Phillies hat and jacket, white T-shirt, sneakers, and baggy jeans.

Consisting of 14 tracks—referred to as "episodes"—the project boasts high-profile collaborations. Fans can expect appearances from Jaden Smith, Russ, Joyner Lucas, Teyana Taylor, and longtime friend and collaborator DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Several tracks have already made waves, including Beautiful Scars, You Can Make It, Work of Art (featuring Jaden and Russ), and Tantrum with Joyner Lucas.
