Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are celebrating a major milestone as their first collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart (April 5, 2025). This marks Gomez’s fourth chart-topping album and Blanco’s first.
According to Luminate, the album sold 71,000 copies in the U.S. during its first week (through March 27), making it Gomez’s best sales week since 2015 and the highest of Blanco’s career.
A significant portion of these sales—21,000 copies—came from vinyl, setting a new personal record for both artists. As a result, the album also debuted at No. 1 on the Vinyl Albums chart. Overall, I Said I Love You First marks Gomez’s eighth Top 10 album and Blanco’s first.
The album's success was fueled by multiple formats, including:
Seven vinyl editions (in various colors and alternate covers, including a signed version)
Three CD versions (standard, signed, and special edition)
A deluxe box set featuring merchandise and a CD
Digitally, I Said I Love You First was released in 10 variations, including a narrative version with commentary by Gomez, a slowed & reverbed edition, and an instrumental version. Many of these exclusive editions, featuring bonus tracks, were available only through Gomez’s online store for a limited time.
While Gomez and Blanco claimed the top spot, the rest of the Top Album Sales chart saw both steady performers and fresh debuts:
No. 2: Lady Gaga’s MAYHEM holds strong with 13,000 sales.
No. 3: Japanese Breakfast’s For Melancholy Brunettes (& Sad Women) debuts with 13,000 sales, marking their best career week.
No. 4: Kendrick Lamar’s GNX, a former No. 1, maintains a strong presence.
No. 5: The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow jumps from No. 15 thanks to a special edition release.
No. 6-10: The Top 10 also features My Morning Jacket, Sabrina Carpenter, LE SSERAFIM, Playboi Carti, and Chappell Roan.
With I Said I Love You First, Selena Gomez continues to showcase her staying power in the music industry, while Benny Blanco celebrates a victorious debut at the top of the album sales charts.
