The Scorpions and Alice Cooper in July in Athens.
The rock meeting of the year is a fact. Scorpions - Alice Cooper. Two great rock concerts in one night that we will remember forever. On Wednesday, July 6, all roads lead to the Olympic Stadium in Athens.
The Scorpions, the legendary rock band, 50 years after the release of their first album, present "Rock Believer" on a tour that will bring them to Athens and will be the most impressive concert they will present to the Greek public.
The Scorpions, one of the longest-lived - and most commercially successful - rock bands, have been active all these years, releasing dozens of albums, and their record sales have reached 100 million copies worldwide.
"Scorpions Best" remains the first selling album in our country and the Greek public follows them faithfully in each of their visits to Athens.
The radios do not stop playing their big hits like "Still Loving You", "Holiday", "When the Smoke is Going Down", "Always Somewhere", "Wind of Change", "Send Me an Angel", but also rock hymns such as "Rock You Like a Hurricane", "Blackout", "Bad Boys Running Wild", "In Trance", "He's a Woman She's a Man", "No One Like You", "Rhythm Of Love", etc.
As their singer Klaus Meine has said: "Rock may have ceased to be so revolutionary, but young people need this music as 'food for the soul'." And that will never change… "
During the pandemic, the band retired to their studio in Hanover and began working on new songs. For the first time, former Mötorhead drummer Mikkey Dee joins and adds his own energy to the Scorpions' legendary hard rock sound.
"The album was created and recorded based on Scorpions DNA in Schenker / Meine creations," says frontman Klaus Meine, explaining why the new songs are as loud as their '80s albums: "We recorded the album as a band live, in a room like we did in the 80's. "We look forward to starting and finally playing again for our fans."
The sound has as much energy as an adrenaline rush and leaves no doubt about the kind of power that rock legends will offer live.
"Rock Believer" was released on February 11, 2022. 2022 is truly a very special year: Exactly 50 years earlier, on January 22, 1972, the Scorpions made their spectacular discography debut and embarked on an international career. Another milestone and another reason to celebrate with their fans around the world.
The Scorpions will embark on a "Rock Believer World Tour" in Las Vegas on March 26. They will then cross the Atlantic and head to Europe, where they will play at the "Accor Arena" in Paris - one of the largest concert venues in Europe - as well as in ten European countries, including Greece.
Klaus Meine explains: "Never in our career have we stopped performing for as long as during the pandemic. That's why we're looking forward to going back on tour. "
On the other hand, Alice Cooper, the rock music legend, has already celebrated the 50th anniversary of the release of his first album and continues to tour, presenting uniquely impressive shows.
Alice Cooper from the late 60's and onwards, left an era with his "extreme" appearances, covered in blood, surrounded by snakes, guillotines, electric chairs, chains and more, resulting in being named "The Godfather of Shock Rock ».
2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the release of "School's Out", the ultimate rock anthem to celebrate the end of the school year and dive into the summer. Half a century later, we can still hear the voice of this anthem - Alice Cooper - performing it in concert.
In addition, Alice Cooper released a new album in 2021 entitled "Detroit Stories". The album pays tribute to Detroit, the city where Alice Cooper was born.
"Detroit Stories" is produced by Bob Ezrin, who also produced "School's Out" in 1972.
A series of his huge successes with Cooper led Ezrin to quickly become one of the most successful rock producers. He was also the producer of the legendary Pink Floyd album "The Wall", one of the best-selling albums in history. The idea for school children to sing the unforgettable refrain "we do not need no education" in "Another Brick in the Wall" came from Ezrin.
In his explosive concert at OAKA, he will present his greatest hits, such as "Poison", "Bed of Nails", "School's Out", "House of Fire", "Feed My Frankenstein" and many
