The distance from social media affected the life of Post Malone in a "positive way".
Post Malone participated in the dialogue about the pressure on artists to make their songs viral on TikTok.
Asked in an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe about TikTok, Post Malone admitted that he likes watching various videos in the app, but does not feel the need to create his own videos on the platform.
"There are so many different ways to get people to listen to your music," he said.
"And TikTok is so incredibly huge. And people listen to my new song and it goes completely viral and that changes people's lives. "And you discover talented people there and everything," he continued.
However, despite the benefits that TikTok can offer to up-and-coming artists, Post Malone has stated that he is not interested in creating content in the app.
"I just think it's my personal opinion and the changes I have made psychologically to distance myself from social media and it has really affected my life in a positive way," he said.
"And it's so interesting. "It's interesting that I heard Halsey's opinion on this issue."
The Post Malone refers to a series of videos recently posted on TikTok by Halsey, claiming that her record company would not let her release her new single, "So Good", without the song going viral on TikTok. The company then announced that the song would be released on June 9.
Continuing, Post Malone clarified that he does not completely hate social media.
"Do what is right for you. It does not mean that you have to say, "I do not have to do this because I sing in stadiums, I'm in charge of festivals." "You do what makes you feel comfortable, because at the end of the day, you have to feel comfortable with what you do," he explained.
"And social media is something I'm not comfortable with," he said.
