Oasis: The Way Is Clear For The Reunion

Damon Albarn believes the 'road is clear' for an Oasis reunion.

Last May, as Blur embarked on their first tour in eight years, Damon Albarn said he would "bet money" that Oasis, their arch-rivals on the 90s Britpop scene, would reunite.

"I can guarantee they will get back together," Damon Albarn told The Sun about the chances of Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher ending their years-long feud.

"I've put money into it," added the Blur frontman and Gorillaz mastermind.

In a new Blur interview with Consequence, ahead of the release of their new album 'The Ballad Of Darren', Damon Albarn once again shared his thoughts on the possibility of an Oasis reunion.

“Well, of course they will. The way is clear for them to do so now. I think it's great. You know what I mean; Obviously, I'm expecting a great new record to go with it," he said.

Damon Albarn also spoke about Blur's reunions and the band's ability to process their problems, noting that the wisdom of age, perhaps, heals old wounds.

"We all have our own things. But it's like we're in a staggered start to an obstacle course,” Damon Albarn joked about the band's current dynamic.

"Sometimes it seems like the same horse is carrying the same old crap. And then another,” he continued.

“But basically, we can recognize that in ourselves and in each other and we do our best to always throw that away and just realize that it's an extremely privileged position to be able to continue in your mid-50s something that Graham and I started when we were 12 and 13. It's kind of crazy," he said.

Damon Albarn paused and added, “It's crazy. It's a long time to have a friendship with someone."
