Nicki Minaj has declared that her fifth album will be "the best thing to come out in 2023".
The 40-year-old rapper has promised fans that her next record after 2018's 'Queen' will be out before the end of the year, and has also announced a tour.
Setting expectations high, Nicki Minaj tweeted this week: “NM5 is the best thing to come in 2023 and will raise the bar to new and unreachable heights. NM5's tour will be hailed as "genius". That's all".
Nicki Minaj isn't afraid to shower herself with praise, as she did earlier this week in a retrospective of her debut.
"Imagine being a fashion icon before your first album," he wrote in another message on Twitter.
"Imagine performing with Ye and Jay at Yankee Stadium, without having released an album, imagine Drake, Eminem, Rihanna, Ye, WillIAm and Natasha Bedingfield on your first album," he continued.
“I have to laugh. I send my best wishes and gratitude to my supporters," he concluded
After last year's hit 'Super Freaky Girl', Nicki Minaj has released during 2023 only the single 'Red Ruby da Sleeze' and met Ice Spice on a remix of the hit 'Princess Diana'. Most recently she teamed up with Kim Petras in 'Alone'.
Nicki Minaj has been talking about her fifth album for a long time. In November, he claimed it was coming "soon."
The hip-hop star has been tight-lipped and hasn't revealed any clear details about an album.
When asked by iD magazine what her next steps were, she said “The fifth album. I won't say when it will be released, but the album will be released soon."
Nicki Minaj also noted that being in "good shape" helps her make "the best music."
"I'm in a really great situation right now. I feel like whenever I'm happy, I make the best music. And in order to be able to deliver the best music on my album - which will be released soon - I have to go back to the essence of hip-hop," he commented.
Nicki Minaj also revealed that she still wants to pursue her acting career and that she won't be walking away from that side of her life "for a long time."
"I have spoken with a director to do something in a film. As for TV, we'll see. But I love acting and I'm never going to give up acting for a long time. This is one of my biggest passions," he said.
