Kate Cassidy on Liam Payne: "I think about Liam every moment"

Kate Cassidy, the former partner of Liam Payne, has spoken for the first time about the tragic passing of the former One Direction member, who lost his life in October 2024 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina.

"I still struggle to believe he’s no longer here," the influencer told The Sun on February 6. "I’m trying to stay strong, but my life has changed dramatically. I think about Liam every moment of every day."

Describing the singer, she said, "He was the most humble, charming, and down-to-earth person you could ever meet. One of the best people I’ve ever had in my life."

The Couple Was Planning to Marry

Kate Cassidy revealed that they had planned to get married in 2025.

However, due to their work commitments, they often traveled separately. As she explained, she had to stay in Florida to take care of their dog.

"We had our dog, and I never imagined something like this could happen," she said, adding emotionally, "If I had known, if I could have seen the future, I would never have left Argentina."

"His Phone Was Still Active"

The moment she learned of his death, she describes as a "blackout."

"I was at home when I got the call. I was trying to process what had happened. Then, I called his phone – and it was still active," she recalled.

Kate said she felt fortunate that she didn’t learn the tragic news through social media. She immediately reached out to his family, while her mother took the first available flight to be by her side.

"I remember pacing around the house nervously. Poor Nala (our little dog) thought I wanted to play and kept jumping on me. I didn’t sleep at all that night," the influencer concluded.
