Eminem has released an anniversary release for the 20th anniversary of his fourth album, The Eminem Show (Shady Records / Aftermath Entertainment / Interscope Records).
The deluxe reissue includes 18 bonus tracks, including B-sides, live performances, instrumentals and an unreleased song, none of which were previously available for download or streaming.
"The Eminem Show" was originally scheduled for release on June 4, 2022, but its release had to be moved to May 26 to tackle piracy and satisfy the public's enthusiasm.
Despite the date change, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 from its first day of release thanks to its impressive 284,000 sales - the only album in the history of this achievement.
When the first week of its release was completed, "The Eminem Show" recorded sales of 1.3 million copies in the US market and is now the seventh highest-selling album of all time in a week in the US.
"The Eminem Show" was released in 2002 as both the highest-selling album in the US and the highest-selling album in the world.
The album has become a diamond in the US, as it has sold over 10 million copies, while its worldwide sales amount to 27 million copies.
"The Eminem Show" was nominated for Album of the Year at the 45th Grammy Awards and won the award for Best Rap Album, while the seven-time platinum single "Without Me" won the award for Best Music Video
As Eminem told SPIN at the time: "One of the frustrating things was that people were saying, 'You have to swear to sell records.' That's why I slightly reduced the tones on this particular album. "I wanted to show that I am a solid artist and that I am here to stay."
The executive production of "The Eminem Show" was undertaken by Dr. Dre, while most of the songs were produced by Eminem together with his longtime collaborator Jeff Bass.
"The Eminem Show" includes collaborations with Dr. Dre, Nate Dogg, Dina Rae, Obie Trice and D12.
In addition to "Without Me", the album features successful singles such as "Cleanin 'Out My Closet", "Superman" and "Sing for the Moment". "The Eminem Show" was rated as the best album of 2002 by Blender, Muzik and LAUNCH and was also rated as one of the best albums of the 2000s by various media.
Later this year, Eminem will release the physical versions of "The Eminem Show (20th Anniversary Expanded Edition)", which will include a set of four vinyl LPs along with CD and cassette versions.
