A vivid tribute to a legendary life, now told through the eyes of young readers
The legendary Cher is stepping into a brand-new spotlight—this time, in the pages of a children’s book. Titled “Cher: A Little Golden Book Biography”, the illustrated storybook is set to hit shelves this December as part of Penguin Random House’s beloved Little Golden Book series.
A larger-than-life story, told simply and vibrantly
Written by Candice Ransom and brought to life with artwork by Laura Catrinella, the book distills the vibrant, extraordinary journey of Cher into a story fit for young dreamers. From her early days performing with Sonny & Cher to the global pop domination of hits like “Believe” and “If I Could Turn Back Time”, every page bursts with color and charm, capturing her evolution with a childlike wonder.
Beyond the stage—Hollywood and hard-earned accolades
Cher’s story doesn’t stop at music. The book also spotlights her acclaimed acting career, including her Oscar-winning performance in “Moonstruck” (1988), a defining moment in her multi-decade reign as an entertainment icon.
Its release feels perfectly timed. In 2024, Cher published the first volume of her long-awaited memoir, “Cher: The Memoir”, with the second part scheduled to drop in 2025. This children’s adaptation complements the deeper dive, offering a lighter, visually enchanting look at the same epic life.
Big icons, little readers: a series of modern legends
The book joins the growing Little Golden Book Biographies collection, which introduces children to history-making figures in music, sports, and beyond. Past titles have featured the likes of The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Barbra Streisand, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and Elton John.
With Cher now added to the list, a new generation gets a front-row seat to the life of one of pop culture’s most enduring stars—in storybook form.
