"It's not goodbye, it's 'Peace Out'."
Aerosmith have confirmed recent rumors and announced on Monday, May 1st the farewell tour "Peace Out".
The tour will focus on North America and will begin on September 2, 2023 in Philadelphia and conclude on January 26, 2024 in Montreal.
However, Aerosmith will close out the year with a Dec. 31 visit to their hometown of Boston's TD Garden, following the huge success of their record-breaking September 2022 concert at the city's Fenway Park.
Aerosmith's farewell tour was announced with a fun video featuring comedian and Boston-area native Bill Burr, Dolly Parton, Eminem, Kelly Clarkson, Ringo Starr, Slash and actor Terry Crews.
It is unknown if the "Peace Out" tour is literally the end of Aerosmith's live shows, or if the band will continue to play select concerts from time to time.
"It's not goodbye, it's "PEACE OUT!". Gear up and walk over here. You will enjoy the best concert of your life," the legendary band said in a statement.
Aerosmith will be supported in all the concerts of the tour by the Black Crowes.
Unfortunately, after years of health problems and a public feud with his fellow Aerosmith members over whether he's still fit to perform on stage, drummer Joey Kramer will be absent from this band's tour as well.
Joey Kramer will be replaced by his former drum technician, John Douglas, as he has done for all Aerosmith concerts since 2019, except for their "Deuces Are Wild" shows in Las Vegas.
"Although Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has unfortunately made the decision to sit out of the currently scheduled tour in order to focus his full attention on his family and health," Aerosmith said in a statement.
"Joey's unparalleled and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed," they add.
Aerosmith also consists of singer Steven Tyler, guitarist Joe Perry, bassist Tom Hamilton and guitarist Brad Whitford.
Since their formation in 1970, Aerosmith has sold more than 150 million records worldwide. The band last toured in 2017, while their latest album was 'Music From Another Dimension!' which was released in 2012.
