Amparanoia is the musical project of the Spaniard Amparo Sanchez. Her major early inspiration was Billie Holiday; Manu Chao, her friend and driving force, said upon hearing her: ‘As a child you swallowed a microphone, and because of this you have that voice streaming out!’.She was born in Granada in 1970.
